All Ability Home Educated Sessions

All Ability Home Educated Sessions

Sessions for young people who are Home Educated and require additional support/accommodations.

At the request of some lovely local families, we are trying out some adhoc sessions for young people who are home educated. The age range and activity available varies as we are trying this out to see what works best and what there is demand for, with the hope of getting a group together so we can have some regular sessions and hopefully start some kayaking courses and adventures!

We are aware that there are a range of needs, and so are trying out some different sessions to see what works. We are starting with:

Autism friendly sessions - These are drop and go, so adults do not stay. They will be in smaller groups than our other sessions.

SEND sessions - Adult to stay and join in as needed. Please do not book if you are not able to stay with and participate as needed to support your young person. Be sure you are comfortable that other adults will be present supporting their young people. You must book on any attending young person - siblings cannot be present for example unless they are also booked on to participate.

Please make sure your young person is dressed appropriately for their activity, and that they have any medication - epi pen, inhaler - and a water bottle with them. They must be able to remove earrings in order to participate in activities. For all activities they must have secure, closed toe shoes with a sole that would protect their foot if they were to step on anything sharp - old trainers are best. No wellies, no flip flips, no crocs. We also do not recommend jeans as these are not comfortable and can chafe. All participants must be clothed between their knees to their elbows - this means they cannot wear micro shorts/biker shorts, crop tops, bikinis etc.

Longridge is a closed site and so we cannot allow parents/younger siblings/those who are not booked onto an activity past the fence. There are no walks here and no public parking.
